SUPREME COURT OF PENNSYLVANIA GRANTS PETITION FOR FOR ALLOWANCE OF APPEAL FOR MAN CONVICTED OF RAPE

Attorney Noel once again earned the attention of Pennsylvania’s highest court, this time after filing a petition for allowance of appeal on behalf of a client convicted of rape and related sex offenses.  On appeal, Attorney Noel sought a new trial for her client on the grounds that expert testimony was improperly admitted against him.  By granting Attorney Noel’s petition for allowance of appeal, the Supreme Court’s decision will clarify for litigants across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania the scope of expert opinion testimony and provide meaningful guidance on the distinction between and the admissibility of opinion testimony by experts and laypeople.
